Cabergoline is in a group of drugs called dopamine receptor agonists. It works by reducing the amount of prolactin (a hormone) that is released from the pituitary gland. Cabergol is used to treat a hormone imbalance in which there is too much prolactin in the blood (also called hyperprolactinemia).
Cabolin Tablet 0.5 mg
Inhibition of physiological lactation soon after parturition: 1 mg as a single dose during the 1st postpartum day.
Suppression of established lactation: 0.25 mg every 12 hour for 2 days.
Hyperprolactinemic disorders: Initially 0.5 mg/week in 1 or 2 doses which should be increased gradually by adding 0.5 mg/week at monthly intervals. Therapeutic range: 0.25-2 mg/week.
