Saloride® is a sterile solution of Sodium Chloride in water for injection. Each 100 ml solution contains Sodium Chloride B.P. 0.9 gm. Isotonic (0.9% w/v) Sodium Chloride infusion is used in sodium and water depletion. For instance, in the management of metabolic alkalosis, in case of gastro-enteritis, during and after surgery. It may also be used as a priming fluid for haemodialysis procedures. Sodium Chloride 0.9% infusion is often used as diluents for infusion of drug additives etc. It is widely used for sterile irrigation and dilution process.
Saloride IV Infusion 100 ml
Adult: As 0.9% solution: Dosage depends on age, wt, clinical condition and laboratory determinations of the patient. Dose to be administered via a large vein, with care taken to prevent infiltration.
Replacement of fluid and electrolytes:
Adult: As 0.9%, 3% or 5% solution: Dosage depends on age, wt, clinical condition and laboratory determinations of the patient. Dose to be administered via a large vein, with care taken to prevent infiltration.
Irrigation of the bladder, eye, general skin and wound cleansing:
Adult: 0.9% solution is to be used as required. Instill 1 or 2 drops of 5% solution in the affected eye(s) every 3 or 4 hours, or as directed by a physician. 5% Sodium chloride ophthalmic solution is a hypertonic preparation. It is used to reduce the edema or swelling of the cornea. This solution exerts its effect through using the tonicity difference.
Adult: 0.9% used as nasal drops or spray.
Child: 0.9% used as nasal drops.
